Hair Fair Donation Kiosks

Hair Fair Donation Kiosk

2009 Hair Fair Expo is fast approaching, and as you know Hair Fair is donating to Locks of Love. 50% of one style from every hair creator that is part of this years fair, goes to Locks of Love, with all proceeds from Bandana sales, and any other donations also being sent to them.

CharitySasy String (aka Sasy Scarborough) will be setting up donation kiosks around the fair as well as store locations around Second Life, ONLY kiosks that pay CharitySasy String are part of 2009 Hair Fair Expo and if anyone see’s a donation kiosk with any other owner please contact Sasy Scarborough immediately.

No donation is too small, if you would like to donate other than by buying the donation hair styles at the fair, or by buying bandana’s for bandana day, this is the way to do so.

Thank You all.

Bandana Day

Bandana Day notice

Stay tuned for an important 2009 Hair Fair Expo message from Sasy Scarborough:

Every year Hair Fair hosts Bandana Day, selling stylish bandanas to raise money for the charity, Locks of Love. On Bandana Day, 100% of bandana sales are donated to this charity, and Bandana Day is fast approaching!

How you can help ?

Contact Sasy Scarborough in world and request a Bandana Making Kit. This kit has all the necessary items you need for a male or female bandana. You can then pass your design to CharitySasy String with full perms, who is the working account of Sasy Scarborough during Hair Fair.

The kit contains male and female sculpted bandanas, a template for your poster, and information on the use of these items. Only one bandana per vendor will be set out, so please make sure you make a separate ad for each bandana you design. Please do not contribute more than 6 bandana designs. Enthusiasm is appreciated, but if you do more than 6 just send us your 6 favorite styles ;).

These items are only to be sold by CharitySasy String to raise money for Locks of Love and will not be used in any other way.

For the past two years Bandana Day has made a huge impact on the fundraising for Locks of Love, so if you cannot help by making and donating a bandana then please make sure you purchase one or more before July 3rd when we “Replace our hair to show we care”.

“You can expect an exciting theme and even more creative hair designs. Our talented staff will also bring you some amazing events that we hope to receive unprecedented participation in. Last year we obtained over $9,500 in funds for our chosen charity, Locks of Love.”

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses provided help to restore a child’s self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers. For those children with medical hair loss that is not permanent as in the case of most chemotherapy, a synthetic wig is provided.

Charity Navigator, an independent charity evaluator, rates Locks of Love as a 4 star charity which is defined as one that “exceeds or meets industry standards and performs as well as or better than most charities in its cause.” You can read further details about this review at http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=9285
