Welcome to Hair Fair 2012 (14th July – 29th July) Following are the rules that will be very important in the application process for this year’s Hair Fair in Second Life. These rules are adapted from previous rules, but please read over them carefully before you continue, as your application will be an agreement to follow them until the event ends on the 29th of July 2012.
- Applications must be sent in by the Owners/Creators of the stores applying.
- You and/or your business partner must be the original creator(s) of your designs. If you have created your hair using full perms kits of any kind you will need to provide the information to a committee member to assess the products. Each store is checked by committee members. If there are questionable prims found during these checks it may result in your application being denied.

- Your store/brand must have existing hairstyles for sale at time of application. Certain creators may be been hand picked by the committee to launch a hair range at Hair Fair. Aside from these few exceptions, only applicants with existing hair designs in store will be considered.

- 15% of all sales at Hair Fair 2012 will be forwarded to Charity.The script you will be provided with must be put into every single pack you will be releasing at Hair Fair 2012. Failure to do so will result in your booth being given to someone on the waiting list. This event is always a charity event, this year we are raising donations for Wigs for Kids (http://www.wigsforkids.org/).

- You must release 3-5 NEW hairstyles during Hair Fair 2012. These must be completely NEW styles not a slight modification of existing older styles. Failure to do so prior of opening may result in your booth being made available to others on a waiting list.The styles must ONLY be available at Hair Fair during the event, and cannot be sold anywhere else. DEMOS may be available in your store and/or secondary locations, with clear information guiding customers to Hair Fair for purchase. If setting up demos on websites, tags must also include “Hair Fair 2012” for search. All styles may be sold in your store after Hair Fair.

- No Scripts other than the Charity Script will be allowed in your booths at Hair Fair 2012, if you use scripted vendors you will need to make non scripted arrangements ahead of time. The only accepted script in your booth will be the Charity script that will be provided to you in advance of the event. The Hair Fair committee will arrange pose-stands if you require them. You may not put in a script and take it out again to get the scripts effects.

- Your booth MUST be set up 48 hours prior to the opening of Hair Fair 2012. This is not negotiable. All Hair Fair 2012 hairstyles must be in your booth and set for sale by that date, failure to do so will result in your booth being made available to someone on a waiting list. No textures are to be greater than 512×512 resolution, this is to minimise lag, textures can and will be checked prior to opening.
All of the Hair Fair 2012 hair must be set up to allow the committee to check all booths, make sure any and all changes needed are done asap, and to make sure that your charity scripts have been set up correctly. Blogger’s Day will be 24 Hours prior to opening, so everything will need to be checked and finalised before we open the event to them. Sculpted displays must be kept at a minimum, due to lag often they will just stay in sphere form, we do not want them to block your or others displays, entrances or public areas…if an unreasonable use of sculpties is found in your booth, you may be asked to removed them.

- An enrollment fee will be charged once application is approved.
Standard Booth 2000L
Large Booth 4000L (will be larger!)
- Booth exteriors must be the same for all. No outside decoration or images are allowed and will be returned if found when setting up. Please use as few textures as possible while decorating the interior of your build to reduce the viewer lag of your customers.
- Enrollment fee is due within 7 days of being approved so that we can add you to the Hair Fair 2012 Designers Group. If payment is not received, your store will be moved to the waiting list, and your place given to someone else. Your booth choice will not be automatically granted, as larger booths are limited. Prim budgets will be provided at a later date. If more prims are needed then you will need to discuss that with the appropriate committee member.
- The enrollment fee is not refundable under any circumstances, so please be certain you will be available during the event times. The enrollment fee pays for the sims Hair Fair is held on. If there is any money left over it will be then donated to the charity of choice. By paying this fee you are committing yourself and your brand to the rules and guidelines of Hair Fair 2012.

- You will need to join two in-world groups during this event:
Hair Fair 2012 Designers: This will be the group that will allow you to build in your booth. All notices leading up to and during the event will be sent to this group.
Hair Fair DEMO Group: We will be setting up a group in advance of the opening where ALL stores will send their demos the day before Hair Fair 2012 opens. This will be a group all of Second Life residents can join and try on the styles in preparation for purchase. The group invites will be sent once we receive your payment for participating in this event.
See Q & A Page for more info - We encourage all stores to provide one Gift/Dollarbie for their store. Only one gift/dollarbie box per booth. If you are going to do male and female then you will need to combine them. The gift/dollarbie box should contain your landmark and any other information and/or gifts you will be giving to promote your brand. Any items in your gift/dollarbie bag must be created by you and your business only, you cannot promote other businesses or brands through your items. Your gift/dollarbie box must not be scripted and it must be set for sale for 0L or 1L maximum. If you wish to donate the 1L to the Charity please contact CharitySasy String or Sasy Scarborough to get that arranged for you.

- You must provide the name of your business partner (if you have one) at the time of application. This person will be the only other person allowed early access to the event grounds. This name must be a visible/known content creator for your store/brand to be granted access. No names will be added at the time of setting up. The person you add as your partner must not be another store/brand than your own, as sharing of booths by different brands is not allowed.

- Anyone granted early access to the fair may not take pictures of the fair booths and/or hairstyles without the express permission of the Committee Members. We take security of this event very seriously to protect all content creators. We want all those who are setting up to feel secure that their soon to be released items wont be seen by the public until they are ready to do so
- All stores will be given exact locations of their booths in advance of setting up. Once all booths are set up and we are in the 48 hours prior time, there will be several events that allow for shopping for the designers and bloggers.

- Previous Hair Fair participants are always invited back, but subject to any new rules! They will still have to fill in the application form and send it in. If you have re-branded your store, please make sure to include that information so that records can be changed. All applications will be done by email, and all email addresses will be kept private.

- Any early promoting of styles planned for release at Hair Fair 2012 must include information about Hair Fair. Information will be provided to you well ahead of time to include.
